Isaiah looks to the time after the destruction of Sennacherib when it was thought that Hezekiah would become Moshiach and a new world order would begin…
The prophecy predicting the total destruction of the nation of Moab continues. Ironically, Moab would send a sheep tribute to the Ahab in Judah and the kings of Northern Israel. But upon the death of Ahab Moab rebelled and stopped sending tributes to his successor. 2nd Kin. 3:4.
Send a lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, to the mountain of the daughter of Tzion. 2 For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of its nest, so the daughters of Moav shall be at the fords of Arnon.
The population of Moab will be taken from its nest, its comfortable surroundings, and will become wanderers, as fledging birds without nests. The daughters of Moab are its small towns and villages…Bam 21:25 And Israel took all these cities: and Israel dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all the villages thereof.
Another historical misdeed made by the Moabites which led to their destruction – they could have saved themselves if they had had compassion upon Israel fleeing Sancheiriv’s army who were conquering northern Israel. If they had offered them asylum and hidden them, Moab would have been saved.
3 Take counsel, execute mishpat; make your shadow as the night in the middle of the day; hide the outcasts; betray not him that wanders. 4 Let My outcasts live with you, Moav; be a shelter to them from the face of the plunderer: for the extortioner is at an end, the plunderer ceases, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
Isaiah looks to the time after the destruction of Sancheririv when it was thought that Hezekiah would become Moshiach and a new world order would begin…it’s always been about a rush to bring in the new world order – Moshiach or Moshiach Neged. Two kingdoms, two seeds at war against each other in an arms race to the new world order.
5 And in rachamim shall the kesay be established: and He shall sit upon it in emet in the Sukkah of Dawid, judging, and seeking mishpat, and bringing tzedakah speedily. 6 We have heard of the pride of Moav; he is very proud: even proud of his pride, and his arrogance: but his lies shall not be so.
What happens when national pride becomes the undoing of the nation? Moab’s purported power collapsed into nothing in the face of the Assyrian might.
7 Therefore shall Moav wail for Moav, everyone shall wail: for the foundations of Kir-Hareseth shall you mourn; surely they are beaten. 8 For the fields of Cheshbon lose lev, and the vine of Sivmah: the mighty men of the heathen have broken down the choice plants, they are come even to Yazer, they wandered through the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea. 9 Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Yazer for the vine of Sivmah: I will water you with my tears, O Cheshbon, and Elealeh: for an oppressor has come against your summer fruits and your harvest is fallen.
10 And simcha is taken away, and simcha out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall trample out no wine in their presses; I have made their vine treaders to cease.
11 Therefore my inward parts shall sound like a harp for Moav, and my inward parts קֶרֶב qereb for Kir-Haresh.
Intestines; our emotions are felt in our innards, when we’re upset about something where do we feel it; we loose our appetite. We feel a sense of pain deep within us, sadness, and mourning.
This occurrence the scripture calls; “the lament of a harp”…why? Because the strings of this instrument are taken from the intestines of David’s conquered enemies…
The lamenting sounds of mourning which come from their innards as being like the tones of a harp.
Here the description from the prophet is as if to say; “my insides, my emotions, play sad, harp-like melody of compassion for Moab and Kir Shares” – its metropolis.
Gen: 15:4 After these things the word of יהוה came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
Gen 15:2 And Abram said, Master יהוה, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? 3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. 4 And, behold, the word of יהוה came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels מֵעֶה mê‛eh Mem-Ayin-Heh shall be thine heir.
מֵעֶה mê‛eh; Mem-Ayin-Heh
כִּלְיָה kilyâh; Kaf-Lamed-Yod-Heh
קֶרֶב qereb; Kuf-Resh-Bet
Here we see guts, innards, used in the Torah to describe Abram’s offspring, the one who will come forth our of your innards, he will inherit you.
So we can understand this is the sphere of the human body which is the seat of feelings, especially pity and sympathy. It’s these qualities that are sensitive traits of the devout the heritage of Abrahams seed – the sensitivity of the believer to the Ruach Ha Kodesh, to conviction, to repentance, to forgiveness.
You can beef up your intellect, improve your mind, strengthen your body, but what is difficult to accomplish is an ennobling change and refinement of character that can only come by the guts, innards tied to the RHK and conversion.
Imparted by the RHK down into your inward parts – that gives character to a human being – it’s roots are in Abraham – Abrahams seed – they must be inherited through the elements of this passage – vines, vineyards, harvest – it’s the end time harvest and grafting into the true character of Messiah – his servants the remnant of Israel, the vine that was discarded has become the choice vine – with scriptural sensitivity imbued unto it.
Ps 139:13 For you have possessed my reigns, you have covered me in my mothers womb. I will praise thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Reigns = Kilyah, translated 18 out of 31 times in the Tanakh as kidneys in relation to those who minister to YHWH as Koheniem – burning of the sacrifice’s kidneys was performed after the girding of the priests with the robe of the Ephod and the Breastplate.
Job 16:13 His archers encircle me all around, He cleaves my reigns/kidneys in two, and does not spare; He pours out my bile on the ground.
Lamentations 3:13 He has caused the arrows of His quiver to enter into my reigns/loins.
Death and destruction are spoken of as arrows slashing the kidneys – they affect the kidneys – the seat of the soul.
The other 13 times Kilyah is used it is in connection with the behavior we allow in conjunction with our heart – thoughts of the heart are the soul – feeling and emotional center of man.
The blood connection to reigns: the function of the kidneys is to purify the blood which the heart pumps – destructive behavior slashes the kidneys, it scars the DNA in the blood, affects our soul – poor soul, wounded soul.
Isaiah was able to envision in his guts the vulnerability and mortality of the Moabites as not separate from his own.
Reigns: Ps 7:9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the tzadik Elohim tries the levavot and reigns
16:7 I will bless YHWH, who has given me counsel: my reigns also instructs me in the night seasons.
Rev 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the Yisraelite congregations shall know that I am He who searches the reigns and levavot: and I will give to every one of you according to your wicked deeds.
Mishle 7:21 With her many words she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she seduces him. 22 He goes after her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the prison; 23 Until a dart strikes through his liver; as a bird rushing to the trap that did not know it would take his chayim.
YHWH’s Word shows we can be enticed away from The Way and it causes harm to our soul, our generations – toxic thoughts, toxic behavior strikes in the liver – the liver of course eliminates waste and toxins if your inviting waste and toxins into your life, what do you expect.
This is the reason the prophet has such deep feelings of sadness over Moab’s destruction, and repeats it many times must be understood.
It’s a war of the innards: “guts for garters” playing on the strings of your enemies emotions for one,
OR: literally playing on the strings of their innards in a victor’s dirge – the choice the Moabites – a foreign and forsaken lineage seed. Vs. Abrahams chosen innards, seed which leads to a inner life changing, inner character, transformative life.
Moab’s father Lot, was Abraham’s most faithful follower. He accompanied Abraham on his travels and witnessed the greatest of miracles, he was saved from destruction in the merit of Abraham.
All that to say this: Moab’s destruction was Divinely ordained long before it happened, it had it’s origin when Balak hired Balaam to curse Israel so יהוה remembered His covenant with Abraham where He said, “and those who curse you, I will curse” was now being fulfilled with the destruction of Moab.
12 And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moav is weary on the high place, that she shall come to her kadosh place to make tefillah; but she shall accomplish nothing. 13 This is the word that vuvh has spoken concerning Moav in times past. 14 But now vuvh has spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a hired man, the tifereth of Moav shall be despised, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.
Only the crippled and severely maimed were left alive by the enemy, and it’s they who moan over its destruction.
