3:6 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Ruach says to the Yisraelite congregations. 7 And to the angel of the congregation in Philadelphia write; These things says He that is kadosh, He that is true, He that has the key of Dawid, He that opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens; 8 I know your works: see, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it: for you have little strength, but have kept My word, and have not denied My Name.

1. The Name: Philadelphia, one of the Two Witnesses – Philadelphia and Smyrna, neither contain disapproval or reproach. 

Philadelphia was prosperous, yet it was subject to major earthquakes. The earthquake in 17CE leveled 12 cities of Asia overnight and Philadelphia was hit hardest as it was right near the fault line. 

Philadelphia gets it’s name, commemorating the loyalty and devotion Attalus had to his brother, and this is what earned him the moniker, Philadelphus, “lover of his brother.”  

2. The Key: the Key of David: Yahusha has the key of David, a metaphorical expression indicating complete control over the royal priesthood.

Isa 22:15 Thus saith יהוה Tseba, Go, get thee unto this treasurer, even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say, 16  What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock? 17  Behold, יהוה will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.18  He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be the shame of thy lord’s house.19  And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down. 20  And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah: 21  And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. 22  And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open. 23  And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house. 24  And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons. 25  In that day, saith יהוה Tseba, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for יהוה hath spoken it.

3. The point: 

Just as Shebna who was removed from office and and replaced with Eliakim. So has the Levitical Priesthood been removed and replaced with Him who holds the keys to his priests entrance into it. 

Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new ??????, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

9 See, I will make them of the synagogue of s.a.tan, who say they are Yahudim, and are not, but do lie; see, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept the word of My endurance, I also will shomer you in the hour of testing, which shall come upon all of the olam hazeh, to test them that dwell in the olam.11 See, I come quickly: hold fast to what you have, that no man takes your keter.

4. The Jew: Deut 30:6, who’s a Jew?

Nothing has changed…30:6 And the יהוה your elohim will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love יהוה  your elohim  with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

Rom 2:28 For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical. 29 But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.

Gal 6:16 the Israel of יהוה  

The Synagogue of Satan’s attack against the true remnant Jews and Israel will be turned on upside down in the eschatological end – the grim irony of providence is beautiful. 

Is 60;14 The sons of those who afflicted you shall come bending low to you, and all who despised you shall bow down at your feet; they shall call you the City of יהוה , the Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

12 Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the Mishkan of My tvkt, and he shall go out no more: and I will write upon him the Name of My tvkt, and the name of the city of My tvkt, which is the Renewed Yahrushalayim, which comes down out of the shamayim from My tvkt: and I will write upon him My renewed Name.

Historically, Laodicean’s weakness was its lack of water, the water had to be schlepped up from 6 miles through a bunch of stone pipes, which could easily be cut off by a hostile party. 

Col 4:16 And when this letter has been read among you, have it also read in the church of the Laodiceans; and see that you also read the letter from Laodicea.

5. The Amein: 

14 These things says The Amein, the only Faithful and Emet witness, the beginning/archē/bikurim of all the creation of vuvh.

14. These things says The Amein. אמן

Prov 8:22  יהוה possessed me (chocmah) at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of old. 

אמן could be rendered “master workman”, Yahusha is being presented as יהוהs advisor, right hand in creation – the preexistence of Yahusha. 

6. The Beginning: 

Beginning/arche/bikkurim

LXX Gen 40:13 Yet three days and Pharao shall remember thy office, and he shall restore thee to thy place of chief cupbearer, and thou shalt give the cup of Pharao into his hand, according to thy former high place, as thou wast wont to be cupbearer.

40:21 And he restored the chief cupbearer to his office, and he gave the cup into Pharao’s hand.

Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of יהוה , which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

15 I know your mitzvoth that you are neither cold nor hot: I desire that you were cold, or hot. 16 So then because you are lukewarm, and are neither cold, or hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 

17 Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, so that the shame of your nakedness does not appear; and anoint your eyes with ointment, that you may see.

Lk 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But יהוה said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and make teshuvah. 20 See, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears My voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21 To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with Me in My kesay, even as I also overcame, and have sat down with My Abba on His kesay.
