Postmillennialism

Dan. 12:9 Go, Daniel! For the words are closed up and sealed until the end-time.

Ezek 4:6 lie again on your right side, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days; a day for a year; a day for a year, I have set for you.

Hos 6:2 After two days He will bring us to life; in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight.

Postmillennialism: the belief that Messiah will return after the millennia, thus believers have a strong role to play in reigning this earth in and brining it under the dominium of Messiah before His return. 

Premillennial: the belief that Messiah will return before the millennia thus He will bring everything under His dominium and believers have very little to do with that but to wait patiently until the catching away and spiritual transformation of the earthly realm.

Dan 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the desolating abomination set up, a thousand two hundred and ninety days shall occur.

• 597 BCE Nebuchadnezzar took away the daily sacrifice – 2 Ki. 24:10

From this point there would be 1290 ‘years’ until the Abomination of Desolation would be set up. 

• 693 CE the Dome of the Rock was completed – the Dome of the Rock makes Israel’s worship desolate. 

Now we have to wait: Dan 12:12 Blessed is he who waits and comes to the thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

• 693 CE Dome of the Rock completed + 1135 ‘year’ wait for the blessing = 2028 CE the blessing will be bestowed. 

Most scholars believe Yahusha was born approx 4 BCE if he was crucified at 33 which also most would agree on then that is 29CE + 2000 years (Hosea 6:2) = 2029 we’re raised up out of Mystery Babylon into the Millennial land.

• Do we have an active or passive faith!
• Believing in the literal ruling, reigning and dominium promises given to mankind in Gen 1:26 or not! 

Premillennial return theology has caused Christians to retreat from the culture in anticipation of society’s collapse, the rapture and ruling and reigning with Yahusha in a mystical millennial spiritual heaven and so we find that humanism has been sucked into the void left by Christianity’s leadership absence.

The common belief, inherited from traditional Christianity is that Yahusha will return to the earth for a 1000 years before its end. 

In contrast look at the postmillennial view:

• (Tribulation? or Jacobs trouble – he had two troubles) the catalyst likely will be social-economic meltdown leading to the cleansing of the land Zch. 13:8, 2/3 will die and 1/3 remain.
• Immigration and expansion of the land of biblical Israel.
• Millennial reign – a Great Tribulation at its end.
• Millennium will end with the Second coming of Yahusha. 
• Resurrection of the dead.
• All living believers are caught up to meet Yahusha in the air.
• All will be gathered before the Great White Throne Judgment.
• Unbelievers thrown into lake of fire. 
• Satan destroyed, no more sin and death.
• Earth passes away/Great Day of Judgment.
• New heaven and earth.

Jn 3:13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

I want to show you through a covenant approach to scripture why a post millennial return of Yahusha could happen! 

A covenant approach to the millennium expects in history what יהוה originally intended for history! Throughout Scripture you see יהוה working toward the accomplishment of His original purpose for the world and for man.

Man was created to be YHWH’s representative, ruling under יהוה and over the creation.

Creation: Why would Elohim give up on history, which He began as “very good.” He made man “in His image,” and a fundamental aspect of that image is that man is given “rule and to have dominion over all the earth” Gen. 1:26.  

The YHWH-ordained impulse in man is to create culture; to glorify יהוה by righteous rule over it. Cain builds a city, Jabal becomes a cattle-farmer. Jubal creates the harp and flute and develops music. Tubal-Cain develops metallurgy. 

This earth, although not the source of the kingdom, is part of the kingdom.

Malki-Tzedik Covenant: The Abrahamic Covenant beginning with the oath in Gen. 12 continues the creational principle of universal glory to יהוה and the redemptive power of יהוה in history by nation building and national blessing.

Gen 12:2 I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Postmillennialism anticipates the, “all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Gen. 22:17 “Your descendants will take possession of the gates of their enemies” 

Heb. 2:14 “Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death that is, S.a.tan” 

He came to mankind in historical form so that He might win through mankind’s millennial rule a historical victory.

Isa. 55:11 “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it”

What does יהוה desire? The Malki-Tzedik Priesthood to become a great nation of rule.

What is YHWH’s purpose to this? To bless all the peoples of the earth! 

Will this happen or is our vain imagination? 

Isa. 46:10. “My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please”

Isa. 2:2 “the mountain of YHWH’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains.” 

Is. 65, 66 – The messianic kingdom is fundamentally redemptive, its primary purpose is to redeem and restore mankind and creation. 

Can we agree that it is during the course of these last days that the events prophesied will occur? 

But when are the “last days” and are they interrupted by a temporal millennial era? 

The “last days” began with Yahusha. This view is opposed by ancient rabbinism, modern Judaism and Zionism and Christian Zionism which conceives of these days beginning at a time far removed from the first century, and relative to the State of Israel rather than Yahusha.

Acts 2:16-17a: “But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says Elohim, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh.”

1 Corinthians 10:11: “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.”

Hebrews 1:1-2: “Elohim, who at various times and in different ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.”

Hebrews 9:26: “He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.”

The last days began with Yahusha!

Part 2 

Hebrews 1:1-2: “Elohim, who at various times and in different ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.”

The last days began with Yahusha!

During the course of these last days Isaiah uses the definite article “the” to speak of the “last days” as a unit, a totality, a whole when this prophecy will be fulfilled. 

So, this is speaking of temporal history, before eternity begins: it is the last era of the days of history. By definition, then, no temporal era is to follow, this is key!

Our life is to be lived as a life of personal, progressive sanctification consisting of two things:

1. the removing more and more the principles of evil still infecting our nature, and destroying their power, 
2. and secondly, the growth of the principle of spiritual life until controls the thoughts, the feelings, and acts, and brings our souls into conformity to the image of Messiah

The Mustard Seed Parable

Despite unimpressive beginnings the Messianic Kingdom will grow until it’s huge.

The Leaven Parable

This parable shows pervasive expanding growth until the Kingdom is fully risen!

The Kingdom has insignificant small beginnings, yet there’s a climatic expansion it will continue to grow until it fills the whole earth!

Is 9:7 There will be no rapture intermission, NO end to the increase of Yahusha’s government.

Dan 2:34 The Kingdom is like unto a stone that grows and crushes all opposing kingdoms until it fills the whole earth. 

Creation: יהוה establishes the world where His righteous image can be manifest and dwell in mankind. 

Covenant: By Oath He frames a legal building to house the promise.

Prophecy: He reveals His power to His servants to spread and direct His righteousness in history. 

Kingdom: He establishes His dominion rule of Malki Tzedik over the nations. 

1 Cor. 15:22, Death is the last enemy of Yahusha to be put under His feet. Since this victory over death will occur on the Last Day, all the rest of Yahusha’s enemies must be put under His feet before the Last Day! 

So, the victory millennial rule must happen before His second coming when death is destroyed by raising His saints from the grave!  

Resurrection: The resurrection is the final curtain of the “last days.” The resurrection is the “the end” of history: 1 Cor. 15:23-24 “But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then comes the end.” 

No new era begins: these are the last days that we now live in. No millennial period will follow the resurrection in history because “then comes the end.”

I always wondered who the people were who were coming up to the Feast of Tabernacles in Zechariah yet outside the Kingdom and supposedly after the resurrection!

Jn 5:28, Paul and Yahusha agree because Yahusha teaches us that the resurrection of the just and the wicked will happen at the “same hour” so they can’t be separated by a 1000 interval!

V.24 “the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to Elohim the Father.” 

When He returns to hand over the millennial kingdom to His Father, then the earth is burnt up.

2 Pet 3:10 But the day of the Master vuvh will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are in it shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons should you be in all kadosh conduct and Shabbat-guarding piety, 12 Looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of vuvh, in which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements  shall melt with fervent heat! 

When Yahusha comes, there will be no earth for us to rule over!  How can this happen if He returns before the Millennium?

Rev 20:5 is used to build a intermission theology between the resurrection of the just and the unjust, whereas I believe that both just and unjust will be raised together after the millennian

In Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given to them: and I saw the beings of them that were beheaded 9 for the witness of Yahush, and for the word of vuvh, and who had not worshipped the beast, or his  image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Messiah a thousand years. 5 This is the first resurrection. (But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.)

V.5 does not appear in the Syriac version of the Aramaic text, so they either added it to the Greek or they took it out of the Aramaic. 

Someone monkeyed with the text! You can’t make or break a doctrine from a monkeyed text!

The first resurrection more likely is dealing with these that were resurrected as a witness to Yahusha at his death burial and resurrection.

Hos. 6:2 after two days he will revive us and in the third day He will raise us up!

A revival is the millennium/ two sticks bound up. Raised up is the final resurrection!

But does that verse limit us to a pre millennial return? 

I don’t believe so! 

I believe Yahusha is with us now! 

We don’t have to wait until some point in the distant future!

You and I should feel His presence now! 

Matt 28:18 18 And Yahusha came and spoke to them, saying, All power is given to Me in the shamayim and in the earth. Go therefore, and make talmidim of all nations, doing mikvah upon them in My Name: Teaching them to guard all things, which I have commanded you:  and, see, I am with you always, even to the end of the olam hazeh. Amein. 

Yahusha is called Emmanuel or “Elohim with us.” (Isaiah 8:10).

Rev 20:4 emphasis is more to do with Israel ruling over the nations than with the physical presence of Yahusha. Yahusha is present, empowered by the Holy Spirit. 

Heb 5:5 So also the Moshiach esteemed not Himself to be made a Kohen Gadol; but He that said to Him, You are My Son,today have I brought You forth. 6 As He says also in another place, You are a Kohen le- olam-va-ed after the order of Malki-Tzedek. 

Ps. 2:7 I will declare the decree: vuvh has said to Me, You are My Son; 6 this day have I brought You forth. 8 Ask of Me, and I shall give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the farthest parts of the earth for Your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

Hebrews 5:5 quoting Ps 2 yet referencing Rev 2:26 tells us that the Malki Tzedik High Priest will rule the nations as part of the Malki Tzedik inheritance and break them with a rod of iron and dash them to pieces like a potters vessel. Rev 2:26 clarifies this rulership is carried out through the priesthood, the over comers.

Rev 2:26 And he that overcomes, and keeps My mitzvoth to the end, to him will I give power over the gentiles: 27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to pieces: even as I received from My Abba. 

Yahusha received it from His abba as the Malki Tzedik High Priest and passes it on to His loyal priesthood, the righteous over comers who rule from the earth in his stead. 

Jer 30:18 in the millennium יהוה will raise up a tzadik leader and governor from amongst His people!

18 This says vuvh; See, I will turn back the exile of Yaakov’s tents, and have rachamim on his dwelling places; and the city shall be rebuilt upon its own heap, and the palace shall remain in its right place. 19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving: and the voice of them that make joy: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also grant them glory, and they shall not be small.  

Their children also shall be as before, and their congregation shall be established before Me, and I will punish all that oppress them. 21 And their leader shall be one of their own, and their Governor shall proceed from their midst. 

What ushers in the millennium is a war over the same old problem, it’s the end time deception: the two houses claiming different kings serving in different temples over different priesthoods: David Vs. Absalom, Shiloh Vs. Jerusalem, Zadok Vs. Avitahar, Adoniyah Vs. Solomon, Rehoboam Vs. Jereboam, Jerusalem Vs.Tel Dan, Levites Vs. sons from every class of people, Yahusha Vs. anti messiah, Anatonia Fortress Vs. the Mt of Olives, Malki Zadoks Vs general sons of Aaron. We must prepare for the arrival of the leader and Malki Tzedik Governor.

I love the anthropomorphisms in Scripture! When Yahusha does return He’s going to be massive, larger than life! His feet are going to split the Mount of Olives in two (Zech 14). There’ll be no mistaking Him!

I believe we’re going to see the continuing awakening of Israel and the eventual cleansing of the land of Israel before we are called from the nations to fill Israel’s millennial border expansion.
