You can see Ch. 52 is a vision of spiritual renewal, liberation, and restoration, fulfilled in the redemptive work of the servant along with the servants exhortation for believers to embrace their identity as a holy and redeemed people.
52:1 Awake, awake; put on your strength, O Tzion; put on your beautiful garments, O Yahrushalayim, the kadosh city: from now on there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.
Rom 13:11 And do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for us to wake up from sleep, for now our deliverance is nearer than when we did believe. 12 The night is far advanced, the day has come near. So let us put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
The explicit command to clothe with strength means we need to get some spiritual fortitude, we need resilience.
In Ephesians 4:24, believers are urged to put on the new self, created to be like יהוה in true righteousness and holiness.
Eph 4:24 and that you put on the renewed man which was created according to Elohim, in righteousness and set-apartness of the truth.
2 Shake yourself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Yahrushalayim: loose yourself from the bands of your neck, O captive daughter of Tzion.
Shake off your dust: Symbolic of casting off defilement and embracing purity, In Matthew 10:14 Yahusha admonished the disciples to shake off the dust from their feet as a testimony against those who reject the message of Isaiah – the true gospel.
Arise up – rise Up, sit down – sit enthroned: Live in a kingdom now mindset and kingdom now worldview, live with a sense of regal authority and dominion over everything you set your hand to and everywhere your step your feet.
3 For this says vuvh, You have sold yourselves for nothing; and you shall be redeemed without money.
Isaiah foresees the redemption accomplished by Yahusha, who paid the price for our freedom.
4 For this says the Master vuvh, My people went down before into Mitzrayim to sojourn there; and Ashshur oppressed them without cause.
The historical context of Jacob’s family – Israel’s visit down into Egypt, where they were forcibly enslaved without just cause…their latter history of suffering and oppression.
“Those who rule them mock” indignity and humiliation experienced when the believers of YAH are under foreign domination.
The mention of blasphemy against יהוה’s name highlights the spiritual consequences of Israel/our subjugation. They disregard His sovereignty and they desecrate His name – worldly socialist oppressors which just adds to the cultures anguish and sense of abandonment.
Yahusha gives us hope…his teachings and actions confronted the oppression and injustice prevalent in society. His ministry prioritized the liberation of the oppressed and the restoration of dignity to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
5 Now therefore, what have I here, says vuvh, that My people are taken away for nothing? Those that rule over them make them to wail, says vuvh; and My Name continually every day is despised and mocked.
יהוה questioning of the reason behind Israel’s suffering shows His concern and compassion for His people. Despite their disobedience and the consequences they face, יהוה seeks to understand and address their plight.
The repetition of the phrase “My name is constantly blasphemed” shows the severity and persistence of Israel’s spiritual degradation. It shows the urgent need for repentance and restoration.
The word for “taken away” here is “נָשָׂא” (nasa), which can also mean “lifted up” or “carried away.” This speaks to the sense of burden and oppression borne by Israel in exile.
The word for “mock” is “לָעַג” (la’ag), which implies scornful derision and contempt. It signifying the humiliation inflicted upon the Israel by their oppressors.
Israels suffering and יהוהs concern for His people…we need to keep focused on the enduring relevance of יהוה’s justice and compassion in confronting oppression and restoring dignity to the downtrodden.
6 Therefore My People-Ami shall know My Name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am He that does speak:see, it is I. 7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of Him that brings Tov News, that publishes shalom; that brings Tov News of tov things, that publishes Yahshua; that says to Tzion, your Elohim reigns! 8 Your watchmen shall lift up their voices; with their voices together shall they shir: for they shall see eye-to-eye, when vuvh shall return to Tzion with compassion. 9 Break forth into simcha, shir together, you waste places of Yahrushalayim: for vuvh has comforted His people, He has redeemed Yahrushalayim. 10 vuvh has made bare His kadosh Arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the olam shall see the Yahshua of our Elohim.11
Knowing the Name of יהוה, you’re not crazy for wanting to use the True Name of יהוה, it’s a promise the remnant people will come to know the name.
In the Hebrew understanding, knowing someone’s name implies intimacy, trust, and authority.
TMH desires believers to know his name and experience His love.
Isaiah’s vision of messengers bringing tidings of peace and salvation. In Romans 10:15, Shaul applies this verse to the preaching of the gospel – sharing the message of redemption.
v.8 Return of יהוה: As watchmen we’re to eagerly anticipate the return of the master to Zion, to see the fulfillment of the promises and the establishment of His reign.
This totally aligns with Yahusha’s teachings about the kingdom of יהוה and His eventual return in glory (Matthew 24:30).
Redemption and Comfort: Again like the previous chapter, those waste places in our lives, just like Jerusalem’s waste places can be transformed as Yahusha comforts and redeems His people.
Acts 3:21 sounds pretty familiar: whom heaven needs to receive until the times of restoration of all matters, of which Elohim spoke through the mouth of all His set-apart prophets since of old.
v.10 Salvation for All Nations: a proclamation that all nations will witness יהוהs salvation. This is the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations but it can’t happen until the Great Omission of TORAH is cleared up
v.11 Depart, depart, go out from there, touch no unclean thing; 6 go out of the midst of her; be clean, that bear the vessels of vuvh.
Paul to the paganize believers in Corinth that loved their bacon:
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
so v.11 again is the call to depart and to purify – the theme to separate and be holy found throughout the Tanakh. Spiritual purification is required for us who choose to live this life and serve TMH.
Shaul new this stuff: he exhorts believers to cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of יהוה in 2 Corinthians 7:1.
12 For you shall not come out with haste, nor go by flight: for vuvh will go before you; and the Elohim of Yisrael will be your reward. 13 See, My Eved shall work a wise work, He shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. 14 Many were astonished at Him; His appearance was so marred more than any man, and His form marred more than the sons of men: 15 So shall He sprinkle many nations; the melechim shall shut their mouths at Him: for that which had not been told to them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
A bit of reassurance that when we depart from uncleanliness, the יהוה will go before us and protect us.
Just like in Psalm 23:4 When I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil. For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your way of life be without the love of silver, a and be satisfied with what you have. For He Himself has said, “I shall never leave you nor forsake you.
Isaiah now introduces the “servant,” figure who embodies wisdom and will be exalted. The servant motif is central of course to Isaiah’s prophecies and finds its ultimate fulfillment as we all know in Yahusha.
The astonishment of many at the servant’s appearance…
On the other side of history we know Yahusha sprinkled our lives and sprinkles many nations, the works of a sacrificial act with universal significance.
Suffering and crucifixion, which ultimately led to the redemption of humanity.
Philippians 2:8 And having been found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, death even of a stake. Elohim, therefore, has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of יהושע every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and every tongue should confess that יהושע Messiah is Master, to the esteem of Elohim the Father.
The kings of the earth will be silenced…will be in awe of the servant’s revelation.
Divine revelation and the acknowledgment of Yahusha’s authority where every knee shall bow and every tongue confess!
It’s a powerful and prophetic vision of purification, exaltation, and universal redemption fulfilled in the servant savior.
A call to depart from sin, to trust in יהוה’s protection, and proclaim the gospel message to all nations, of course on the other side of history we recognize so much more – the sacrificial work as the ultimate fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy!
