Wisdom is "without guile" and "imparts without envy." There’s a purity and refinement that’s totally akin to the process of our spiritual purification!
7:1 I myself also am a mortal man, like to all, and the offspring of him that was first made of the earth, 2 and in my mother’s womb was fashioned to be flesh in the time of ten months, being compacted in blood, of the seed of man, and the pleasure that came with sleep. 3 And when I was born, I drew in the common air, and fell upon the earth, which is of like nature, and the first voice which I uttered was crying, as all others do. 4 I was nursed in swaddling clothes, and that with cares. 5 For there is no king that had any other beginning of birth. 6 For all men have one entrance into life, and the like going out.
Beresheeth 1:26. – human origin: “I also am a mortal man like all others.” We’re all created from the earth, wisdom acknowledges its place in creation.
Proverbs 2:6 Wisdom is a divine gift, one that is granted by יהוה to His creation that seeks Him diligently. For יהוה gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 8:22 Wisdom was present with יהוה at the creation of the world. יהוה possessed me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
Ecclesiastes 3:2…There’s one entrance into life, and one way out. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
Moshe called for Divine Wisdom: Shemot 3:1
The pursuit of wisdom brings alignment with יהוה in the midst of uncertainties.
When יהוה called Moshe from the burning bush, Moshe was initially very hesitant – understandably; he was doubting his own abilities!
Exodus 3:11-12: But Moshe said to יהוה, ‘Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?’ And יהוה said, ‘I will be with you.'”
Shemot 33:12 Show me your glory and your ways oh יהוה a deeper yearning is stirred within our souls for truth, divine wisdom, not just for guidance but for a full understanding of the Father’s purpose!
Shemot 33:18: “Moshe said, ‘Please show me your glory.’ And יהוה said, ‘I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim before you my name ‘יהוה…But you cannot see my face, for no one shall see me and live.'”
Like Moshe we can’t be satisfied with a superficial understanding of יהוהs will. We gotta seek wisdom directly from Elohim because we prefer יהוהs wisdom to all earthly glory and power!
Wisdom fulfills יהוהs will in your life.
Our soul’s longing for spiritual wisdom is what draws us close to the divine.
Persistence in seeking wisdom – means actively seeking guidance for our own lives.
Just like the burning bush symbolizes the continuous, unconsumed light of wisdom, יהוהs revelation brings eternal wisdom that sustains and transforms our lives.
Psalm 119:33 Wisdom comes through prayer: I prayed, and understanding was given me. Read the Psalms and gain divine wisdom. Teach me, O יהוה , the way of Your statutes, and I will keep it to the end. Give me understanding, that I may keep Your Torah and observe it with my whole heart. How many of us prayed that prayer and found Torah! So, then Torah is necessary for understanding and wisdom!
Micah 6:8He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does יהוה require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your Elohim.
So what’s wisdom’s role in the world? It’s given by יהוה, rather than something earned through human effort – it’s glue, a binding agent, it binds the relationship between humanity and the Creator. It sticks with you through the hard times when everything else falls away to the past.
Because life and death is the great equalizer,“there is for all one entrance into life, and one way out” – equality of all people before יהוה. Death – the great equalizer, and wisdom is what enables us to navigate life with some sense of understanding and balance.
John 16:13When the Spirit of truth comes, she will guide you into all the truth.
Colossians 2:3 in Moshiach are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. So it’s foundational to all things and accessible only to those who seek it.
Matthew 25:1 the parable of the ten virgins shows the need for wisdom in preparation for the Second Coming – having enough oil for our lamps, which is akin to having divine wisdom.
7 Wherefore I prayed, and understanding was given me: I called upon Elohim, and the spirit of wisdom came to me. 8 I preferred her before sceptres and thrones, and esteemed riches nothing in comparison of her. 9 Neither compared I unto her any precious stone, because all gold in respect of her is as a little sand, and silver shall be counted as clay before her. 10 I loved her above health and beauty, and chose to have her instead of light: for the light that cometh from her never goeth out.11 All good things together came to me with her, and innumerable riches in her hands. 12 And I rejoiced in them all, because wisdom goeth before them: and I knew not that she was the mother of them.
Exodus 31:2 יהוה choose Bezalel to craft the Tabernacle, endowing him with wisdom and understanding, See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri…and I have filled him with the Spirit of Elohim, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship.
Wisdom is given directly by יהוה to those who seek it with a sincere heart.
James 1:5, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of Elohim, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Proverbs 3:13 Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her.
Matthew 13:44, The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Deuteronomy 28:1 If you faithfully obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim…all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim.
Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of יהוה and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Proverbs 8:22 wisdom was with יהוה at the creation of the world, יהוה possessed me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I have been established from everlasting, from the beginning, before there was ever an earth.” She’s a life-giving force that’s integral to the creation as יהוהs partner in creation.
John 1:1-4, the Word, which is Yahusha, is described as being the source of life: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”
Wisdom is “without guile” and “imparts without envy.” or “not subject to hurt, loving the thing that is good”, There’s a purity and refinement that’s totally akin to the process of our spiritual purification!
Wisdom is a pure, untainted force that is not affected by negativity and fear traits like guile or envy. It’s “unpolluted” and “free from anxiety,” so we have to move away from those traits to attain her!
Malachi 3:3, it is written, He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver.
1 Peter 1:7, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Yahusha Ha Moshiach.
Making the faithful strong and pure.
Life’s Core: In the Torah and throughout the Tanakh, wisdom is not only a divine attribute but also foundational for a righteous and prosperous life.
Wisdom is more than just knowledge; Yahusha is life itself, the very manifestation of the Father, and the only means by which we’re saved to be refined and purified.
13 I learned diligently, and do communicate her liberally: I do not hide her riches. 14 For she is a treasure unto men that never faileth: which they that use become the friends of Elohim, being commended for the gifts that come from learning. 15 Elohim hath granted me to speak as I would, and to conceive as is meet for the things that are given me: because it is he that leadeth unto wisdom, and directeth the wise. 16 For in his hand are both we and our words; all wisdom also, and knowledge of workmanship. 17 For he hath given me certain knowledge of the things that are, namely, to know how the world was made, and the operation of the elements: 18 the beginning, ending, and midst of the times: the alterations of the turning of the sun, and change of seasons: 19 the circuits of years, and positions of stars: 20 the natures of living creatures, and the furies of wild beasts: the violence of winds, and the reasonings of men: the diversities of plants, and the virtues of roots: 21 and all such things as are either secret or manifest, them I know.
Luke 11:31-32: “The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here.”
22 For wisdom, which is the worker of all things, taught me: for in her is an understanding spirit, holy, one only, manifold, subtil, lively, clear, undefiled, plain, not subject to hurt, loving the thing that is good, quick, which cannot be letted, ready to do good, 23 kind to man, stedfast, sure, free from care, having all power, overseeing all things, and going through all understanding, pure, and most subtil, spirits.
There’s a struggle for wisdom and it’s called obedience- Jeremiah 1:4
Wisdom is divine instruction given so we can carry out יהוהs will and see it through the dark times, even when it requires suffering. In the case of the prophet Jeremiah, יהוה calls him to be a prophet to the nations. Despite his youth and fear, Jeremiah is given wisdom and strength to speak the truth, though it results in personal suffering.
Wisdom 7:10 – “I loved her more than health and beauty, and I chose to have her rather than light, because her radiance never ceases.”
Jeremiah 1:5-9 – “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
24 For wisdom is more moving than any motion: she passeth and goeth through all things by reason of her pureness. 25 For she is the breath of the power of יהוה and a pure influence flowing from the glory of the Almighty: therefore can no defiled thing fall into her. 26 For she is the brightness of the everlasting light, the unspotted mirror of the power of יהוה, and the image of his goodness. 27 And being but one, she can do all things: and remaining in herself, she maketh all things new: and in all ages entering into holy souls, she maketh them friends of Elohim, and prophets. 28 For יהוה loveth none but him that dwelleth with wisdom. 29 For she is more beautiful than the sun, and above all the order of stars: being compared with the light, she is found before it. 30 For after this cometh night: but vice shall not prevail against wisdom.
Loss and suffering lead us to question everything, but ultimately, through יהוהs comfort and guidance we can gain a deeper understanding of divine wisdom working behind our lives busyness, recognizing that human wisdom is limited compared to יהוהs, we can’t always see what’s best for us – sometimes we’ve gotta get unstuck to see it.
Job 28:12-28 – “But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell? It is hidden from the eyes of every living thing…”
Acceptance brings healing and alignment with יהוהs sovereignty and this totally mirrors the whole theme of Wisdom 7…wisdom is something that transcends our earthly understandings. Like Job, we have to trust in יהוהs wisdom even in suffering.
