VA YESHEV - The life of Joseph! Ben Joseph is the age old midrash, an ancient Jewish expectation that Israel’s Messiah will likely come in two appearances! First, as Messiah Ben Joseph of Ephraim based upon the record of Torah Parsha VA YESHEV and second as Messiah Ben David based upon 2nd Samuel 7:12
Jn. 1:43 The day following Yahusha would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me. Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moshe in the TORAH, and the prophets, did write, Yahusha Ha Netzarat of Nazareth, Ben Yoseph.
Road to Emmaus – Lk 24:27 And beginning at Moshe and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
Ben Yoseph is the age old madrash, an ancient Jewish expectation that Israel’s Moshiach will likely come in two appearances! First, as Moshiach Ben Yosef of Ephraim based upon the record of Torah Parsha Vayeshev and second as Moshiach Ben David based upon 2nd Samuel 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son.
In the plain sense of the text – the PASHAT we have the ‘drash’ worker in wood would be set forth (Ez 37:15 two sticks the worker in wood…Matt 13:55 Is not this the worker in wood’s son? Is not his mother called Miriam?
There was always an expectation that Moshiach Ben Yosef would act as the precursor to Moshiach Ben David. Moshiach Ben Yosef was the first to wage war against the forces of evil that oppress Israel and to do battle with the descendants of Esau…Ob 1:18…this is where we are at prophetically today…the followers of Messiah Yahusha are the ones who are awake to the evil oppressions coming from Esau…And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for יהוה hath spoken it.
Moshiach ben Yosef’s function according to the rabbis is to prepare Israel for the final redemption – they say: “he will be the one who will be at the end of the worlds time and his title will be Moshiach Milchamah (the anointed for battle) he will descend from Yosef for this is the title of Moshiach.”
And the rabbis go on to say; “the battle of Gog and Magog is identified with Moshiach Ben Yosef who suffered for the sins of Israel as Yosef suffered for the sins of his own brethren.” THIS IS REMARKABLE COMING FROM JUDAISM.
Tie that in with this: Jn:11:50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

As did the leaders of Israel…Matt 26:3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, And consulted that they might take Yahusha by subtilty, and kill him.
V. 20 kill him and cast him into some pit. Ps. 119.85 The proud have digged pits for me, which are not after thy TORAH. And to his son I will give one tribe, that My servant David may always have a lamp before Me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for Myself, to put My name there. So I will take you, and you shall reign
Parallelisms between Joseph’s life and Messiah, the son of Joseph life
Remember how this biblical account of Joseph all started? Joseph was looking for his brothers in Genesis 37:17 and he was told they were in Shechem, which means – shoulders, upper back, where the burden of punishment or scourging’s is meted out then later Dothan.
The word Dothan is very telling, Dothan’s root is Dat – religious law – so the one with the righteous garments prepared for him by his father goes to a place of scourging’s to shoulder the burden of the family of Jacob/Israel. In Dothan he is judged by the /religious law of his brothers and thrown into a pit only to be raised to glory!
He had a miraculous birth.
He was given a garment: Katanet Pasim – to sleeves and ankles (the same description of the garment of a High Priest – 2 Sam 13:18 – a garment ripped and divided and soaked in blood – a REMEZ of the split kingdom and later, Golgotha.
